As we are all very aware, Novak Djokovic's stance on the Covid vaccine has earned him the nickname 'Novax'.
Now, there is no denying that this an incredible nickname, and the real shame is that the originator may never be known, or receive the credit they deserve. This is unfortunately always the way, and whilst we cannot give credit to the people who came up with the names, we can highlight some other absolute blockbuster celeb nicknames!

Ed Sheeran, A.K.A. Fire Crotch
It may be obvious, and it may be crass, but this is a top nickname that (probably due to his immense success) has not followed Ed into his adulthood. however, it was once the name he was called by. the real question....due to hair colour, or numerous 'personal' activities? We may never know!

No explanation needed here. It isn't big, and it certainly isn't clever, but we can guarantee it annoyed the hell out of the big man when he first heard it. For us, that is good enough to make the list!

Now comes the controversy. This nickname was an early childhood nickname given to the film star, and whilst a neat little portmanteau of his first and second name, it holds no funny backstory. However, rumours have it that he became so obsessed with himself and his image, that friends re-introduced it as a 'Brangelina' type barb as he 'was in a relationship with himself'. As we say though, this is pure rumour, and cannot be confirmed. We like to believe it is true though!

Now, we have all heard of the Trumpster being referred to as 'The Donald', which is a unusually warm nickname to assign to one of the most controversial people of recent times. This, presumably, is why someone decided that he should be called 'Ducky', in reference to Donald Duck. A name that not only is a little belittling, but also has the added bonus of apparently 'annoying the hell' out of him according to some sources. We guess this was mission achieved for whoever created this nickname!

Finally we move on to the top gun of actors, Mr. Tom Cruise. A man that has many nicknames, too many too mention. International super stardom will lead to that. However, our favourite has to be Lil' Pete. This plays on the obvious 'Tom is little' trope, but using a bitty of savvy, calling back to the days where he played Pete "Maverick" Mitchell in Top Gun. Smart nicknames are our favourite nicknames!
