Wayne Rooney Stakes His Claim To Title

Trent Alexander-Arnold is fast becoming one of the footballing world's top talents.

Recently, people have suggested he is the best player ever with a double-barrelled name. This, on the face of it, seems like a solid claim.

However, Another England legend has thrown his name into the ring, suggesting that actually, he is the best double-barreller ever.

Wayne Rooney.

Or as he is insisting, 'Wayne Roo-ney'.

Now, your first thought is, 'no, it is definitely Rooney', right? Wrong.

Wayne himself has confirmed that his birth name is 'Roo-ney', and therefore he deserves the title of 'Best Double-Bareller'.

The United legend has said that as part of a media tactic to increase popularity, he was told to change his name to 'Rooney' to reference the classic Only Fools And Horses episode where Del gifts Rodney a bracelet with his name on it, but to everyone but Del, it clearly reads 'Rooney'.

Wayne says, "Only Fools And Horses is the nation's favourite sitcom, and my media team insisted that connecting my name to the spelling error on the show would shoot me to stardom.

"I was sceptical at first, but clearly it has worked as I am one of the most well known footballers in the world."

Now, still hungry for accolades, Wayne has revealed his secret in an attempt to claim the title of 'Best Double-Barrelled Footballer'.

Well, you can't criticise his passion for success!

So what do you think? Is he better than Trent? Can you think of anyone better than them?
