A Manchester United fan has launched an official petition to change the name of Old Trafford to 'anything else'.
However, it's not what you think, they want the cricket ground to renamed after an unfortunate mistake cost them dearly.
Derek Jacobs, 52, who has supported the Red Devils since childhood, travelled to the stadium via car, with his son entering the coordinates to the Lancashire cricket ground Old Trafford into the sat-nav, rather than the football stadium, culminating in them missing a resounding 4-0 win for the Manchester football club.
"As we started our journey to the stadium, all was well", reports Derek.
However, as they neared the final destination, he felt impending doom looming.
"I have been to Old Trafford (the proper one, not the cricket one) many times in my life, and I realised far too late that the sat-nav was taking us the wrong way. Immediately I knew that trusting my son to enter the postcode was a mistake."
Unfortunately for Derek, the mistake was noticed too late, and re-diverting to the football stadium was not an option. This led to the the father and son combo arriving at the cricket stadium and eventually purchasing a ticket to the cricket, simply for the sake of 'not wasting a day'.
Ever the model father, Derek has not criticised his son (to his face), instead focussing on an official route to prevent future mishaps for other Red Devil fans.
"I think the only realistic and fair option here is that the cricket ground changes their name to anything other than Old Trafford. The football stadium is known as the 'Theatre Of Dreams', and after watching that cricket match, I suggest the cricket ground changes their name to the 'Dream Theatre' on account of the four naps I took during proceedings."
So there we have it, one disgruntled customer!
