Holiday Provider Plans 'Corona Holidays'

With 2020 seemingly being the year of the Coronavirus, one holiday provider is planning on cashing in on the epidemic by offering group holidays for all those affected by the illness.

In an unexpected announcement, BriTours UK, a coach holiday operator from Swindon, has released plans for their upcoming 'Covid-19 Tour'.

A spokesman for the company, Barry Giles, has revealed that the idea came from a crisis meeting held on Monday morning.

"We were all called to a meeting by the owner to discuss the ongoing disruption to service caused by the Corona outbreak. We have had to cancel over ten tours in the last week due to people requesting refunds of their tickets amid concerns regarding possible contraction of the virus.

"Whilst we completely understand the apprehension of our loyal customer base, we needed to come up with a plan to cover our overheads in the coming weeks."

Barry admits that the idea behind the 'Covid-19 Tour' was not his, but that he and the other meeting attendees were all in support of the concept (proposed by an employee Barry would only refer to as 'Rod').

"Rod suddenly stood up and declared that he believed he had the solution. He went on to explain that people would surely understand that they can't catch the illness again once they already have it, and therefore we should appeal to all customers that have contracted the disease already."

Once the meeting was over, the tour company set about designing a closed loop tour that would only accept travellers that already have Coronavirus, and will travel the British countryside, spending the nights camping in the UK wilderness.

Could dedicated coach trips allow Coronavirus victims to continue holidaying?

Barry confirms that the dates are not finalised, and the full route of the tour is still under development, but BriTours UK has already started contacting previous customers to offer the service should they become infected with the illness.
